What is the Ageless Wisdom?

The Ageless Wisdom has always been with us and is still current today, which is why it is ageless and not ancient.

From as early as 10,000 years ago, there have been teachers presenting the fact that there is more to who we are.

… Man fell in love with his own shadow and desired to descend into it … Nature, beholding the descent, wrapped herself about the Man whom she loved, and the two were mingled. For this reason, earthly man is composite. Within him is the Sky Man, immortal and beautiful; without is Nature, mortal and destructible. Thus, suffering is the result of the Immortal Man’s falling in love with His shadow and giving up Reality to dwell in the darkness of illusion; …”

Poimandres, The Vision of Hermes

This ancient text present an ageless truth that there is a duality with the human, one that is mortal and destructible and one that is immortal and beautiful. Could it be that we have invested too much in ensuring the survival and protection of the mortal and destructible aspect of ourselves at the expense of any real and shared understanding of the aspect that is immortal and beautiful?

This concept of our dual nature and the unrest that sits at the heart of the human condition is replicated throughout history:

… when one casts off all disturbance of the mind and is content in his soul only with his soul, the one is said to have stability in sight

Bagavat Gitta 2:55

...In the beginning there were two primal spirits, Twins spontaneously active, These are the Good and the Evil, in thought, and in word, and in deed. Between these two, let the wise choose aright. Be good, not base!
The Gathas, Ahunuvaiti Gatha Yasan 30 #3 –The Hyms of Zorraster

… Be delighters in awareness; Keep watch over your mind. Lift yourself up from the difficult road, like a tusker, sunk in mire.

327  The Dhammapada – The Sayings of the Buddha.

… 19. The Mind is not self-luminous, since it can be seen as an object. This is a further step toward overthrowing the tyranny of the "mind": the psychic nature of emotion and mental measuring. This psychic self, the personality, claims to be absolute, asserting that life is for it and through it; it seeks to impose on the whole being of man its narrow, materialistic, faithless view of life and the universe; it would clip the wings of the soaring Soul. But the Soul dethrones the tyrant, by perceiving and steadily affirming that the psychic self is no true self at all, not self-luminous, but only an object of observation, watched by the serene eyes of the Spiritual Man.”

Patañjali, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. the Book of the Spiritual Man

It would seem that while countries, cultures and religions fight over territories, power and material wealth, in their midst have lived philosophers who were connecting to the same insights and wisdom throughout the ages.

The concept that there is more to life than physical form seems to resonate deeply with people regardless of geography but unfortunately, in almost all cases, this simple principle becomes owned by institutions that seek power and enshrined in theologies that deliver many of the right words, like love, care and brotherhood but do not display the same level of love, care and brotherhood to anyone other than their 'believers' and at time not even to their own 'believers'. These ageless and universally applicable concepts are turned into religious dogma or new age ideals that draw people in but then keep us separated and quarantined to our own ideological playgrounds.

We overlook the racism, sexism and separatisms that occurs within these institutions and we excuse the abuse of people and power and write off the murder of ‘people not like us’ as the human condition rather than an indication that maybe there is a difference between the words and what it takes to live the essence of the love, care and brotherhood that they profess to represent.

Regardless of all of this, the Ageless wisdom remains and in our modern times, teacher and philosopher Serge Benhayon presents this same wisdom as a practical way of living what is innate in all. It is an approach that helps us to understand that aspect that is immortal and beautiful.

This Ageless Wisdom presents that:

1) WE HAVE A DIVINE ESSENCE THAT IS THE CORE OF WHO WE ARE

"Your daily deeds and chores do not add up to your worthiness, for the loveliness was there at the birth of the day."
Serge BenhayonEsoteric Teachings and Revelations, p 539

“Your saviour is your own Soul. Seek nowhere but deep within.
Serge BenhayonEsoteric Teachings & Revelations, p 277

What if this divine aspect of ourselves was accessible regardless of age, race, income level, occupation, gender or geography? What if there is no messiah, chosen one, house of worship, theosophy, clergy, stones or crystals that give us access to this essence?

The choice to connect to this essence is a matter of our own free will and awareness. It is certainly not something that we need to become worthy of, transform into or repent to be allowed access to in some future life.

It is present, very practical and available to anyone, equally, every day because - love cannot discriminate or judge and love is the deepest truth of who we are.

2) OUR PRIMARY UNDERSTANDING OF LIFE IS IN OUR ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND DISCERN ENERGY

This element of energetic awareness is the key. While some are open to the concept of energy, it is the quality of energy that determines if we are connecting to our essence or not. The essence is the immortal and beautiful aspect that Hermes talked about close to 10,000 years ago. The alternative is the mortal and destructible aspect. It makes little sense to suggest that the energy that produces the feelings of love, connection and grace is the same that results in anger, frustration, depression or other emotions.

The great scientist /physicist Albert Einstein made it more commonly available outside the Ancient Teachings to know that ‘everything is energy’, but neither he nor anyone else before Universal Medicine made it into a temporal relative reality in the sense that – ‘if everything is energy, therefore, everything is BECAUSE of energy.’

It is the latter, the ‘BECAUSE’ that needs to be the first point of all of our attention, for it is here that we will find the answers to all of our woes.
Serge Benhayon Esoteric Teachings & Revelations, p 220

Why haven’t we made the first and foremost basis of all education the fact that we live in a world where everything is energy and therefore, all is because of it?
Serge Benhayon
An Open Letter to Humanity, p 127

Come on, play with a small example of what it would mean if you were taught from young that everything is energy and thus all is because of it. You would ask yourself -- what energy have I got, allowed-in or caught (?) -- when you find yourself being sick or not well in any way. Likewise, you would seek to know the energy that leads to you feeling joy-full. And hence, if we knew which energy made us not well or not who we truly are, whilst there was an energy that made us feel truly good and or truly joy-full etc., we would focus all of our attention on knowing all about energy and how it works throughout our life.

Serge BenhayonEsoteric Teachings & Revelations, p 277

Once again, like the connection to our essence, energetic awareness cannot be owned by any corporation or institution. No one can stop us from feeling, other than ourselves. We make the choices, either consciously or not, to eat and live in a certain way that ultimately makes it harder or easier to feel the energetic origins of all of our experiences and determines the level of understanding we bring to life. That said, energetic awareness is not s gift but a responsibility in the truest sense of the word...responding to our ability to read and feel life.

Thus we come to point three:

3) THAT HOW WE LIVE IS OUR GREATEST FORM OF MEDICINE

One cigarette may not give you cancer, but one carrot will not cure it. It is our daily choices that combine to either support our connection to our essence, thus our awareness and experience of life...

Our greatest form of medicine is to live as who we truly are.

Serge Benhayon, Esoteric Teachings and Revelations p 570

Life and its sensible necessities are full of ‘good medicine’; ignoring them and behaving in ways that oppose or contrast such key essentials is no different to refusing to take your prescribed medication.

Serge Benhayon

This concept, like all others of the Ageless Wisdom, is egalitarian in it application. It can be applied regardless of who you are or where you live. Success is not defined by bank balance or level of fame but the connection you establish to your own essence and the joy you live each day, relative to yesterday and the day before. We are each our own benchmark from which we grow.

While societies argue about the need for evidence based results and the merits of particular religions and philosophies, it seems that beyond the man-made institutions that have encased much of the Ageless Wisdom, the real message is the same.

There is no love without self love and connection to our essence is where love lives.
